Facility Updates

We are excited to announce a Fitness Pointe renovation project designed to enhance your workout experience! Starting on Friday, May 30, 2025, we will begin an approximate 5 to 6-week project replacing the current flooring and installing state-of-the-art rubber flooring throughout the fitness workout areas as well as upgrading our basketball court mesh divider for an improved workout environment.

This project will unfold in phases and will impact the following areas of the facility:

  • Basketball court
  • Cardio equipment
  • Free weight equipment
  • Personal training studios
  • Strength workout machines & rowing alcove

We understand that these changes will cause significant, but temporary inconveniences such as limited or restricted access to certain equipment and areas. However, the end result will offer an improved workout environment for you to enjoy. We sincerely appreciate your patience and understanding as we work to create a more modern fitness environment for you.

To keep you informed, we will:

  • Send regular email updates for each phase.
  • Maintain a Flooring Renovation Project Bulletin Board located across from the main stairway on the lower level.
  • Post signage regarding available equipment and restricted areas.
  • Ensure our Fitness Pointe staff are available to assist you throughout the project.

Please keep in mind that the disruption is temporary and the results will be impactful.

Thank you for your support as we invest in the future of Fitness Pointe and the continued enhancement of your workout experience.

We are excited to kick off Phase 1 of our flooring renovation project at Fitness Pointe on Friday, May 30, 2025. This phase involves removing the current carpeting in the strength machines section and the rowing alcove, replacing it with new, modern rubber workout flooring which will enhance durability.

What to Expect:

  • The strength machines will be moved to the basketball court.
  • Some of them will remain available for use during this project phase.
  • The rowing alcove will be unavailable during this project phase.
  • The basketball court will be closed during all project phases.
  • Cardio, free weights, and personal training studios will remain accessible during this project phase
  • We anticipate this project phase to last approximately 7-10 days.

The renovation replaces carpeting with Ecore rubber-cushioned flooring to enhance safety, shock absorption, slip resistance and hygiene, thereby creating a better environment for all members, guests, clients, and patients.

The project begins May 30, 2025, and is estimated to be completed around July 2, 2025, and is divided into specific phases.

The exact dates for each phase will be updated on our website as they become available.

Each phase includes equipment relocation, carpet removal, base floor preparation (e.g., grinding, resurfacing), rubber flooring installation, brick weighting and curing.

Fitness Pointe will remain open; however, certain areas will have restricted access during each phase to accommodate renovation work. We are working in phases to minimize disruption. A detailed schedule of affected areas will be posted on our website, emailed to members and displayed on the Renovation Bulletin Board located at the bottom of the main staircase at Fitness Pointe.

Exercise equipment in renovation areas will be temporarily relocated to the basketball court and stored. Access walkways will be available and designated for our members to access available equipment. Please follow the access walkway signage during this project.

Equipment will be replaced after the completion of each phase.

Group fitness classes held in the large studio will not be affected during the flooring renovation.

Mind-body classes held in the personal training studio (next to the group exercise studio) will be affected when the flooring in the personal training studio is replaced. Details will be announced when they become available.

Personal trainers may be using different areas of the facility during the renovation project, but all training sessions will be held.

The flooring renovation process involves removing old carpeting and adhesive, followed by grinding the concrete (under strength & cardio equipment) to ensure a smooth surface for the new eco-friendly, low-VOC rubber flooring.

Grinding, which produces moderate noise levels, will be scheduled for one 5-to 6-hour session in Phase 1 and one additional 5-to 6-hour session in Phase 2. The grinding will begin during early evening hours on a low-volume day. Breaks will be taken during grinding to reduce the noise impact. Earplugs will be available at the fitness desk for members with sensitive hearing.

To manage dust and fumes, the work area will be enclosed with a shielded barrier, and workers will use machines with HEPA filters. Masks will also be available at the fitness desk for members who prefer added protection.

Yes, Ecore rubber flooring is slip-resistant, shock-absorbent and designed for fitness environments, making it safe and comfortable for all members including those with mobility challenges.

The contractor will implement dust control measures (HEPA filters) and proper ventilation to manage any adhesive fumes. The slab’s moisture content has been tested and all readings are below 85% relative humidity. The foreman will monitor the temperature and humidity, coordinating with our manager for any necessary adjustments. Members should follow posted signs and barriers to stay clear of restricted areas.

The contractor’s crew will remove old flooring debris and appropriately dispose of it in facility dumpsters. Flooring materials and bricking will be safely and securely stored at Fitness Pointe. Please be respectful and understanding of the temporary storage of these items during this project.

Ecore product details and safety data information about the low-odor, zero VOC adhesive can be found in the links on the right-hand side of this page.

We will post regular updates on our website, via email to members and at the Fitness Pointe facility.
